SUMMARY:Policy Knowledge Exchange meeting (PolKEN)
DESCRIPTION:We are happy to inform you that after a long time\, a physical Policy Knowledge exchange (PolKEN) meeting has taken place in our Brussels office\, a day after our event in the European Parliament. The key purpose of this meeting was to provide a background and to discuss the importance of the INSPIRE Directive to bring public data into the data space and the GreenData4All. \nThe evaluation of INSPIRE has been completed and the evaluation Staff Working Document (SWD) was published in July 2022 with the main conclusion that the INSPIRE Directive is still very relevant for addressing data sharing obstacles from the past and data needs for the future. “Modernisation supported by improved implementation will render the intervention a key instrument to make the necessary data available needed to address environmental challenges (A Green Deal for Europe)\, increase environmental democracy and strengthen the emerging data economy (European Common Data Spaces).” \nEnvisaged timeline for the possible INSPIRE revision: \nQ1 2023:                          Call for Evidence for the Impact Assessment for the GreenData4All initiative \nQ2 2023-Q4 2023:           Public consultations \nQ2 2023–Q4 2024:          Impact Assessment& study \nQ2 2025:                          Legal proposal adopted by the College followed by trialogue. \nPlease see agenda\, meeting minutes and participants list with contacts here. \n\n\n\n\n\nPresentations \n\n\n\n\nIntroduction and news from Head Office \n\n\nLea Bodossian \n\n\n\n\nTowards INSPIRE 2.0 \n\n\nMarjana Zelic \n\n\n\n\nImplementing the UN-GGIM: Europe work plan \n\n\nEwa Surma \n\n\n\n\nEU policy developments \n\n\nMarjana Zelic \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n

SUMMARY:Members Webinar Series - Implementation of the Copernicus Services Framework Agreement
DESCRIPTION:The relationship and cooperation with the EEA has continued to flourish through the contract EuroGeographics has with eGEOS. The formal partnership agreement\, Copernicus Services Framework Agreement\, was signed `by EuroGeographics and the EEA at the start of the year\, and we are now working hard to implement these agreements and fulfilling the objective of ensuring your authoritative data is used by the Copernicus services. This webinar provided you a refresher on the Copernicus Services Framework Agreement as well as information on the Annexes which cover data provision to the Emergency Mapping\, Land and Security Services. The EEA  also presented a number of case studies to show how your data is being used and how vital and important it is they have access to the official data sources. There was also an opportunity to ask questions specifically around any barriers you might be facing which prevents your organisation from signing the agreement\, annexes or providing the actual data even if the license is in place. \nThe agenda was as follows: \n\n10.30 – 10.50 – Copernicus Services Agreement and Annexes – Sallie Payne\, EuroGeographics\n10.50 – 11.10 – The use of MNCA data in the Copernicus Services – Jose Miguel Rubio Iglesias\, European Environment Agency\n11.10 – 11.30 – Questions and Answers session \n\n\nWebinar Recording (Opens in YouTube) \n

SUMMARY:Workshop for NMCAs - European Core Data & Services for European Data Spaces
DESCRIPTION:GeoE3-project\, Location Innovation Hub\, EuroGeographics and EuroSDR are organising a workshop together for European NMCAs. It will take place in Brussels as a physical event. \nLocation data has a huge potential – but we need to take the next step together to deploy this potential. We need to integrate location data with other data\, work on data interoperability and improve data quality. Data must also be available through API’s. \nThe workshop focused on: \n\nHow could NMCAs’ data and services become a part of the European data spaces?\nHow could we work together improving data management\, services\, and data integration with other data?\nHow can we take European data strategy with High Value Datasets into consideration and how to create Core Data Services for European data spaces based on High Value Datasets?\n\nIn this workshop we: \n\nshowed viable and interesting examples from the GeoE3-project and our platform (geoe3platform.eu) on how to establish data integration and improve data management and services\,\ndiscussed about establishing a stronger European Core Data Provider network together\,\nintroduced how Location Innovation Hub created in Finland as part of the European Digital Innovation Hubs could be used as a facilitator for European Core Data Provider network\,\nlooked at financing opportunities (Green Deal and other Digital Europe funding opportunities) and what is needed next: how to address for example Gaia-X\, data security and how to engage other communities.\n\nOur goals were: \n\nTo enlarge and develop European Core Data Provider Network\nTo support creating a European/National Dataspaces\nTo discuss how we could proceed together\n\nThe agenda of the workshop is available here. \nThe presentations of the workshop can be found here below: \n\n\n\n#\nPresentation\nPresenter\n\n\n1\nA European Strategy for data – Shaping Europe’s digital future\nJordi Escriu\, Joint Research Centre\, European Commission\n\n\n2\nNMCAs and European Data Spaces\nJarkko Koskinen\, Joint Research Center\, European Commission\n\n\n3\nImplementation of data strategy: data management\nMorten Borrebaek\, Norwegian Mapping\nAuthority\n\n\n4\nImplementation of data strategy: data services\nMikko Visa\, Finnish Meteorological Institute Jari Reini\, National Land Survey of Finland\n\n\n5\nImplementation of data strategy: data integration\nLassi Lehto\, Finnish Geospatial Research\nInstitute\n\n\n6\nEuropean core data provider network\nAntti Jakobsson\, LIH\n\n\n7\nIntroduction to Green Deal Space\nDelphine Miramont\, EARSC\n\n\n8\nWorkshop and future discussions – EU Green deal data spaces and the NMCA’s role\nAnniina Lundvall\, NLS\n\n\n9\nLocation for European Data Spaces – Introduction to project concept\nVeera Mustonen\, Spinverse\n\n\n \n \n \n\n\n \n \n \n\n\n\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Members Webinar Series - OME2 Project Update
DESCRIPTION:In this webinar we aimed first of all to share the overall plans for the OME2 project and lay out the goals for our existing and new products\, especially for the brand-new large-scale dataset with high-value data layers and the plans to expand the Open Cadastral Map. \nOur second aim concerned how the outputs from our previous projects (ELF\, ELS\, Open ELS and OME) feed into OME2. We presented the re-use of tools and the incorporation of lessons learned to emphasize that what we have done up until now is to be utilized in the work ahead. \nFinally\, an update was also given regarding the closing of the OME project. \nThe presentation was given by Victoria Persson of EuroGeographics and can be found here. \nWebinar Recording (Opens in YouTube) \n  \n  \n
